The Botany Department was started in 1959. The first batch of the B.Sc. three year Degree course with Botany main was started in the same year with a registration of twenty students. Prof. K.V. Varghese from Pala St. Thomas College was deputed on 16.06.1959 as head of the Department. (K.V. Varghese - 16.06.1959, A.K. Susamma - 08.07.1959). The department has two well equipped laboratories holding the capacity of 30 students each for conducting practical work. The Botany Association works to supplement academics with lecture classes, work experience sessions and cultural programmes. |
