The  Department started functioning in 1959 with 18 students, Prof. K.J.Scaria was the founder head of the Department. Currently the Department has 75 students, 6 Teachers and 3 Lab assistants.The Department of Chemistry functions with a new physical chemistry lab set up with a number of Physical Chemistry apparatus required for main and sub students. The department organizes seminars and classes frequently which offer the students exposure to various topics related to chemistry and life. Apart from imparting the subject the dept. also aims to equip each individual with the competence to succeed in life by conducting classes on career, personality development, leadership training and behaviour modification.
