The Computer Association
The Computer Association "Techno Wizards"was officially inaugurated on September 10th, 2004 by the Principal. Dr P C Sherimon gave a scholarly lecture on the concept of "OOPS". The office bearers of "Techno Wizards" for the forth-coming year were also selected after the lecture. Manitha Nair was selected as President, Revathy S as Secretary, Deepthi P C as Treasurer and Sarin Rehas, Revathy Saju, Jyothi Susan as the office members.

As a part of equipping the students to compete with the emerging needs and hurdles of a fast growing technical and revolutionary world, the association arranged a certificate course on foreign language with German being the key language of focus. Mr Thampi who is a senior and a well-experienced faculty of the French Academy adeptly guides the classes. Moreover, the offer is extended to students of all departments of the college. After the course completion, exams were conducted and Anuradha R S of 3rd year came first, second was Reshma Kuruvilla and third for Jinu Maria.

Seminars
Our first seminar was on February 18, 2005 on SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) by Mr. Jijesh Mohan from Logic Systems. He was able to impart a clear view of the different phases of a software development cycle from his practical industry experience. A class on the current emerging prevalent languages- Java, J2EE from Sun and the .NET technology from Microsoft was discussed. We were given a prompt idea on the industry, needs of knowing both technologies, so that we can choose a language according to our choice, caliber and latest industry stand, for our final projects.

On July18, 2005 the first years were given an orientation on the basics of computers and the stand of the current IT industry. The introduction to the program was given by Rev. Fr. A T Mathew Anathanam, the director of Sun Infosys, Kottyam. Mr.Bachen lead the classes and made them feel comfortable with their new topic. He introduced the necessary ideas in the subject along with the uses of Internet, and its various facilities like mailing, searching. It also included how to learn more on computers, and in fact how to be a part of this global innovation.

The design phase, which includes functional and non-functional requirements and the designs like table design, data design and input output design were highlighted. DFDs, how to draw DFDs and the different normal forms were given high importance.

Sagezza
The inter department festival 'SAGEZZA 2005', a glittering event, was conducted on October 19, 2005. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Joseph Onattu, Principal of K G College. The students from all departments of the college actively participated with great enthusiasm. The general quiz had a new face of presentation where the entire program was run from software with LCD projection. The Miss Personality Contest and the One Minute Elocution 'JAM' gained strong support and participation. The egg shell and computer painting competitions helped to bring out the aesthetic skills in them.

This program served as a platform for our students to develop their leadership qualities, team spirit and program co-ordination skills.

Project Training
Java is the language most widely used in the industry today. Our students attended training program in this language from experts in the industry and they have done live projects (using Java as the front end) of leading firms in Kottayam like HDFC, D C Books, Parthas, Pala Marketing Company, Kottayam Public Library and DC MAT- School of Management.
